Migration Requirements

To develop a comprehensive project plan for a data migration and automation project from Cosential to Salesforce, it's essential to outline the specific requirements that will guide the implementation process. Below are the key requirements for such a project:

  • Data needed to be transferred from Cosential to Salesforce. We were also asked to provide better structure (Opportunities in Salesforce).
  • Data Transformation and de duplication was needed. Basic automations and validations were needed on data.
  • Data cleaning was one of the primary challenges of the client, for example – picklist fields that should be mapped have different set values.
  • System fields were also required to be migrated. Also, there was a need for visual reporting and interactive dashboards.

We re-designed the Object Structure in Salesforce as per the pain points in existing design. The following is a quick solution walkthrough.

Our team meticulously assessed the existing data structure within Cosential CRM and devised a comprehensive data mapping strategy to facilitate a seamless transition to Salesforce. Leveraging industry best practices, we executed a controlled data extraction and transformation process, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout.

  • Created a mapping document for all entities to confirm mapping and transformations required.  
     
  • Created Duplicate rules in Salesforce so that no new Duplicate Account or Contact is created in the system.
  • Exported existing data and identified all duplicates using formulas in excel. Merged duplicate records.
     
  • Cleaned data using excel formulas and as per the Client’s comments. Also, we created Lightning Dashboards and Reports for better visibility.
